PENTAX has recently announced the PENTAX Optio W30, the fifth model in the series of waterproof digital cameras. Not only the camera is waterproof, Optio W30 has a more than doubled performance capacity. Now the photosavys can capture underwater images up to 10 feet for 2 hours. Pentax W30 Digi Cam has a 2.5 inch LCD monitor that offers an LCD Bright Mode that has the capacity to adjust the brightness of the screen as for improved viewing in the sunlight. Digital and Movie SR modes reduce the blur in both image and video capture.

To increase the durability of the camera metal front and back covers are added to the Camera. For Water repellency the protective glass on the lens is treated with a Super Protect (SP) coating. Face Recognition AF & AE mode takes care of automatically detecting and focusing on faces and producing sharp pictures disregard to the backlight. Digital SR mode reduces camera shake and focuses on the object thereby reducing the blur. You can also capture smooth, high-quality movies at 30 fps (frames per second) at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

Macro Photography feature of Optio W30’s allows focus on objects at just under half an inch away and lets you take real-like enlarged images of the objects whose details other cameras miss out such as jewelry, etc. Optio W30’s Auto Picture mode automatically ascertains best settings for shooting conditions for Night Scene, Landscape, Portrait and Program modes. The camera is made ideal for beginners as it comes automated; the user gets freed from making a number of individual settings.
