Canon U.S.A has launched a new printer which offers a host of advance and cutting edge features. The Canon imageCLASS MF4690 model offers users features like; scan-to -e-mail, -file, -fax, or -USB memory port in the user’s choice of JPEG, TIFF, PDF or high-compression PDF formats. One also comes across built-in networking features, along with the device’s duplexing capabilities, making it ideal for single or multiple networked users.

The printer has a 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) and the monochrome laser MFP prints and copies at speeds up to 21 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized output at up to 1200 x 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) print resolution. It is also capable of scanning in 24-bit color or grayscale at an interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi from the platen glass or the ADF.

Some other features found on the printer include; eight one-touch speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial numbers, 512-page memory capacity, PC Faxing, and two-sided duplex output, a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface and a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the imageCLASS MF4690 is $399* and will begin shipping to retailers in April 2007.
