Photographer Snaps A Picture Of Twin Lightning Bolts In Chicago

When nature decides to give us a rare display of its beauty and power, a photographer in the right place at the right time might get the opportunity to snap a really, cool picture. On Wednesday night, photographer Chris Sweda of the Tribune was on his way to the John Hancock Center to get pictures of the new Trump Tower spire and suddenly, a lightning storm began in Chicago.

Nonetheless, Mr. Sweda focused on his job and got the assigned images he’d been sent for. However, he was rewarded for his good timing and diligence as a pair of lightning bolts descended from the sky and each of them individually struck the top of a building at the same time. Of course, one of the buildings was the aforementioned Trump Tower while the other is the Willis Tower. This Chicago Tribune photographer definitely proved his skills with a camera.

Since Sweda captured this stunning photograph of nature, it’s been picked up and circulated around the world by the Associated Press and the Mail of London recently got a hold of it. Without a doubt, this beautiful image (shown above) is the result of being in the right place at the right time. But it also helps when you’re a camera man who’s an expert in his craft.
