Photography Revolution with Open Source Camera
Ever heard of the open-source camera? Of course not! A group of photo scientists from Stanford University is on the brink of revolutionizing digital photography with open-source digital camera. About all the features incorporated on this new camera can be controlled by software that can be created by anyone.
This open source camera will encourage programmers to create software that will teach cameras new tricks. The camera has been designed in such a way that all its functions and settings can be controlled using software programs. You will no longer have to use the pre-installed software that comes from the manufacturer.
To date, the researchers are working on enhancing the resolution of videos with high-resolution still photographs. They are considering the possibility of having the camera communicate with computers on a network as well, and to build the camera for less than a $1000.
So far, the project has received support from Nokia, Adobe Systems, Kodak and Hewlett-Packard.
