Photos without Glares? Try the Invisible Flash!
There’s a new flash solution in town and it’s invisible. Dilip Krishnan and Rob Fergus at the New York University are the guys that came up with the concept. And it seems it’s quite an impressive idea. Photos taken with the invisible flash will apparently be glare free.
The flash uses infrared and UV light to help you take all the photos you want in dark environments. The resulted image does not have the correct colors and it will look like a night vision photography. That’s why the camera takes another picture without the flash immediately after the dark flash image. That way the final picture has all the right colors as it’s a combination of two photos.
The concept will be presented at the Siggraph conference in New Orleans later in August and we’ll be looking forward to see what manufacturer will be the first one to use it.
