Pictures From Space: Hurricane Jimena
Check out this positively awesome picture from space, which wends its way to us via the NOAA satellite systems. It’s a shot of Hurricane Jimena as it cruises over the Baja peninsula.
Now, considering that, by the looks of that thing It’s at least the SIZE of the Baja Peninsula, and quite possibly double the size given that it’s covering both coasts and then some, it’s small wonder that most in that area are freaking out like their hair was on fire. But then again, given that it’s that big it’s no wonder that, in a truly incongruous step, Los Angeles and most of California is desperate for this bad boy to swing around and dump a whole load of water on the wildfires that are currently burning like mad out that way. They can cheer up–at last report, it was heading north by northwest.
But regardless, one thing is perfectly clear–that shot. The NOAA satellite must have some awesome resolution, and gives us a great picture from space.
