Point Grey USB 3.0 HD Webcam

For the people looking for a new webcam, brace yourself for this one released by Point Grey which boasts of the USB 3.0. This latest HD webcam features a 3 mega-pixel CMOS sensor from Sony and can project 1080p images at 60fps.

One of the stated benefits of raw HD video is that it allows the computer’s main processor to handle compression, instead of relying on the camera’s components, supposedly offering more flexibility over the various types of compression, while allowing certain processes like facial recognition to work on the uncompressed video for better results.

The Point Grey USB 3.0 HD webcam will be demonstrated at the IDF between September 22 and 24. If you want more information on other features and on how you can get a hold of it, that is the place to be.
