Polaroid CIA-01037H Digital Camera Review–Maybe The Best Value Ever
Polaroid stands as one of the oldest and simultaneously most recognizable names in photography today. When asked to name camera brand names, Polaroid will likely show up within the first five names listed or so. But I’ve got a real doozy of a Polaroid to talk about today…the CIA-01037H.
The Polaroid CIA-01037H is a ten megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom, a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, face detection, a range of scene modes, single-point autofocus, a variety of white balance options, auto flash, special effects, movie recording formats, sixteen megs of onboard memory, compatibility with SD and SDHC memory cards, USB interface and photo editing software.
The spec sheet you’ve just read clearly suggests that this is a pretty decent camera–nothing special, but certainly nothing bad. Indeed, I didn’t have too much trouble with it myself, but here’s where things get really strange. All this camera can currently be had from Best Buy’s outlet center for just sixty bucks.
Sixty bucks. For a ten megapixel camera with, admittedly, the minimum options. And though it is somewhat bargain-basement in its capability it’s clear that it’s also bargain-basement in its PRICE. If you can find a cheaper digital camera, then I’d suggest you buy it for your kids’ Barbie dolls because that’s probably the only way you’ll FIND a cheaper digital camera.
Plain and simple, the Polaroid CIA-01037H (which is also plain and simple in its own right), is an incredible value. You’re going to get plenty more than you pay for here, and I’ve seen similar cameras go for twice this price. If you’re looking for a simple digital camera and don’t need a whole lot of bells and whistles, then this one is just what you want.
