Polaroid Gets A New Lease of Life

Polaroid ceased production of their instant film in June, 2008. But, thanks to The Impossible Project, they are setting about to bring it back, although slightly redesigned. Their mission is not to reconstruct Polaroid Integral film but with the help of strategic partners develop a new product with new features, consisting of new optimized parts, produced with an efficient modern setup.

It is preparing to be an advanced analog material, sold under a new brand name that will match the global re-positioning of Integral Films. The Project has purchased the old equipment, acquired a ten year lease on the old factory in the Netherlands, and hired a team of film experts. Their objective is to re-start production of analog integral film for vintage Polaroid cameras in 2010.
