Powerful Observatory Camera Model Wins SolidWorks Design Contest 2008

WIYN Observatory Tucson, Ariz was recently honored with a grand prize in the SolidWorks Design Contest 2007 competition for their powerful observatory camera model, One Degree Imager which has been designed in SolidWorks® 3D CAD software. The potent camera would be fitted inside a powerful telescope and is asserted to deliver enhanced image 100 times superior than the Hubble with equivalent clarity. The camera is expected to be marketed by 2009 and is expected to clear out a lot of information about our Universe, Planets etc. The One Degree Imager promises to capture almost everything right from a terabyte of data every night. Maybe this hi-tech instrument is a sign of “there is no escaping Technology”.
