Red Light Cameras Roundly Voted Out of Chillicoathe
Well, chalk up another victory for the common man who decided he didn’t want his every movement tracked by government watchdogs–the citizenry of Chillicoathe voted down a proposal to install red light traffic cameras in town.
Oh, and four incumbents also got pink slipped from THEIR jobs for a change. I expect a lot more of that to happen these days.
Fully seventy two percent of voters voted against the cameras, and not so coincidentally against anyone who even suggested them. Of course, now you can probably expect a lot of whining about “protecting the children” from any of the remaining survivors of the red light camera purge, though chances are, most of them have been voted out and no one even remotely cares about what a bunch of ousted politicians think about anything.
Kudos to Chillicoathe, who will hopefully show the rest of us the way.
