Remember, Remember With Some Great Fireworks Pictures
In case you don’t know, or haven’t read or seen V For Vendetta lately, November fifth is the annual celebration of Guy Fawkes Day in Great Britain, parts of Canada, and a few other places that still feel British influence strongly.
Anyway, it’s a pretty big day, kind of like Halloween and the Fourth of July all rolled into one where kids in costume roam the streets, begging a “penny for the Guy”, with which they would buy small explosives–fireworks–and set them off whilst eating toffee apples and baked potatoes. No, seriously. Some towns also set off fireworks displays, and if you want to get a picture of these, you’ll need the following:
A camera with manual exposure and a minimum shutter speed of at least a few seconds.
Alternatively you can use a fireworks scene mode, found on many compact cameras.
A tripod, to eliminate camera shake.
Put all these together and you’ll have some great photographs to help you remember, remember the fifth of November. Or the Fourth of July, or any other time fireworks go off.
