Ricoh unveiled its sleek and compact entry level digital camera in Caplio RR730, a replacement for its extremely popular predecessor RR660. Boasting of a 7.1MegaPixel CCD, the camera offers decent specifications at an entry-level price. So if you are one of those who is still waiting to see a digi cam in their pocket, you don't have to look any further than the feature packed RR730.

Cashing in on the success of RR660, the Ricoh engineers have managed few suttle changes to the RR730 like the crystal-clear 2.5” color TFT-LCD monitor and is also slightly lighter and smaller than its predecessor. The body of the RR730 is very sleek and compact and yet produces amazing, crystal-clear images via 7.1 MegaPixels CCD. The camera has 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom lens with a combined zooming power of 12x, which is quiet a hand-full for an entry level camera.

The point-and-shoot feature lets even novices to handle the camera with absolute ease. With the turn of the dial, you can switch from 6 scene modes, Auto, Program, Portrait, Landscape, Sports and Night Scene. The camera comes with a 32MB of internal memory and you can always increase the storage capacity using an SD Card. It makes use of AA batteries and features USB cable for easy transfer of files and also lets you enhance your photos and create panoramic images with the bundled software. The RR730 will reportedly hit the shelves later this month for a suggested price of $248.
