Rugged CCTV Unveils SunPix

What makes this new CCTV camera from Rugged CCTV different from the traditional ones we see? Wider range? That isn’t as impressive since they already did that with their wide Dynamic Range (WDR) sensor. The newest features is delivering clearer pictures crisp true colors, more detail, and the ability to handle difficult lighting conditions from the harshest glare to the blackest darkness.
All of these were made possible through the power of just one chip called the Digital Pixel System (DSP). This new chip turns each pixel into its own camera. It makes use of a revolutionary 14-bit Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) sensor that samples each pixel independently, multiple times per exposure.
The “SunPix-IR2910″ has 520 lines of resolution, an onscreen menu that allows any setting to be changed or fine-tuned, and also has a 2.9mm to 10mm Varifocal Zoom lens equipped with a mechanical Infrared Cut Filter for crystal clear, true-color pictures during the day, and since the lens is an Aspherical Day/Night version, displays perfectly focused views at night under Infrared lighting.
Most cameras exhibit a focus shift in Night Mode and the pictures are fuzzy and out of focus. Rugged CCTV is developing several other indoor and outdoor cameras with the new DPS technology, and will be releasing new models later this year.
