Samsung Announces New CMOS HD-Capable Sensors

Mobile phones are bound to lack the quality factor when it comes to shooting images with their built-in cameras but Samsung might just break that trend. Samsung unveils a couple of new CMOS image sensors with the S5K4E2 and the S5K5CA. The Samsung S5K4E2 chip boasts of noise removal technology, barcode support and business card scanning. It can even record clear video images at full resolution.

The S5K5CA on the other hand is a 3MP SoC which combines CMOS image sensors and an image signal processor. It comes with sophisticated imaging features and 720p HD video capture capability. The S5K5CA is currently undergoing mass production while the S5K4E2 is set to start by the first quarter of this year.
