Samsung SCDX205 Camcorder Review–Not Perfect But Still Good
I always feel kind of bad when I set out to write a review of a fairly good product that has a couple of problems. It feels like I’m just talking smack to show I can, even if those problems in question are valid. And that’s how I feel about the Samsung SCDX205 camcorder.
The Samsung SCDX205 is a hybrid Flash memory and DVD camcorder that gives you a hundred minutes of record time. It features a Schneider lens with astigmatic aberration tolerances and low distortion, a 34x digital zoomand a F1.6 lens. Plus it has a sweet LCD screen for easy viewing.
Now, like I said, this is a good camcorder. Downright awesome camcorder in fact, with lots of great features and easy button layout. The zoom is smooth and reads small print from ten feet away easily. I had just one problem with it, as I didn’t like the sensitivity on the LCD panel’s zoom lever. The one on the top of the unit was MUCH nicer.
See what I mean? Small gripe. REALLY small gripe. But it’s there nonetheless. And it’s the only thing really making this three hundred dollar camcorder suffer. The Samsung SCDX205 is an excellent unit with only small control issues separating it from greatness.
