Today we’re going to be discussing the Samsung SCMX20, a camcorder that does the job, but only just.

The Samsung SCMX20 retails for about two hundred and fifty dollars, depending on where you shop, and offers easy uploading to YouTube, a 34x optical zoom, Six hours max recording time on available flash memory, SD card slots, advanced image stabilization and a 2.7 inch LED screen.

There’s no doubt that this packs plenty of options into its system, and that it comes at a fairly good price, but I found that the range on the zoom wasn’t as good as other models of comparable price.  However, it was very smoothly operated, and the control layout will prove to be solid and easily accessible.

The only real question becomes: how far away do you really need to zoom?  if you can get by without the longest possible zoom, then the Samsung SCMX20 will be all the camera you really need and for a pretty good price.
