Samsung SMX C10GN Camcorder Review–Horrible Camcorder
It’s not every day that I have to express a really strong opinion about a Samsung camcorder one way or another. Usually it’s like eating at Olive Garden. It’s satisfying, it’s tasty, but it’s nothing spectacular. But today I have to express a really strong opinion about the Samsung SMX C10GN–it’s one of the worst camcorders I’ve ever used.
The Samsung SMX C10GN comes with a built in microphone, image stabilizer systems, SD memory card support, a 10x optical zoom, still picture capability, and a web and mobile shooting mode to ensure your videos come out in just the right configuration for uploading to YouTube.
Perhaps the biggest problem with the Samsung SMX C10GN, aside from its horribly short range (10x optical zoom?? On a CAMCORDER?? I’ve seen digital cameras with longer zoom!), is its baffling design. The lens has been canted so that, in order to point the lens straight ahead, you must hold the camera itself at an angle.
Basically, this is a badly designed camera that can’t even bring the features to make up for its own incredible lack of utility. The Samsung SMX C10GN may well be Samsung’s first all around fail.
