Not to be outdone by the recently launched cameras of Sony (Cybershot TX1 and WX1), Samsung Electronics has its own new digital camera up for release in the market. If the new cybershot cameras are boasting of their low lighting feature, the Samsung ST1000 is highlighting its own feature, a built-in GPS.

The Samsung ST1000 camera is a 12.2 megapixel camera with a compact body. It likewise features a 5X optical zoom lens but the striking feature is the GPS which now counts among the list of compact cameras with location-finding skills.

The other features are common with most cameras we see today. There is no word on how much it would cost but you can bet that its official release scheduled for August 13 promises to reveal a whole lot more.
