digimax d103 camera, perfect for me but am unable to buy the dock for it anywhere.no one seems to know about it or stock it

Today I purchased the Samsung D103 Digimax Digital Camera from Currys. The deal seemed almost too good to be true - £129 for the camera but if you bought the accessory package (consisting of a Samsung battery charger/2 rechargable NiMh AA batteries/Samsung case/1Mb memory card) it was only £169. This was a massive £200 off in total!

I eagerly rushed home, unpackaged it all, put the memory card in, loaded the software to my PC & put 2 BRAND NEW alkaline batteries in whilst the rechargable ones were gaining power.

I took 2 photos….yes only 2, and then found the screen displayed ‘Low Battery’ and it had shut down. I tried turning it on again but nothing.

I left it for a while, tried again but no success. By now the rechargable batteries were ready so I inserted them and took another picture. It seemed ok, with the battery indicator on the LCD camera screen showing full battery levels. Upon taking a second picture, yes you’ve guessed it, the screen displayed ‘Low Battery’ and it shut down again.

By now I was somewhat dismayed so tried another 2 BRAND NEW Alkaline batteries & after 4 more photos, I again received the low battery message.

I have decided to return to Currys tomorrow to demand a full refund.

It seems clear to me that the reason why these Samsung cameras are reduced so heavily is that they are unfit for their purpose. Whilst these make class-leading claims of 10 Mega-pixels, the internal mechanics are not up to scratch.

I guess the moral of the story is that usually things are too good to be true……especially when dealing with the appalling Samsung D103 Digimax Digital Camera.

I've owned this Camera for a couple of days and I'm very happy with it.

I agree that when used with Alkaline batteries the battery life is pathetic but when used
with 2500mah rechargable NiMh AA batteries the performance is stunning!

I've taken over a hundred pics( most with flash)and the battery indicator still reads three bars!

The picture quality is amazing and its very easy to use!

I highly recommend this camera!

P.s Make sure you use 2500mah+ rechargable NiMh AA batteries!
