SanDisk’s First X4-Based Flash Memory Cards Available Soon

In case you are looking for a new memory card from SanDisk then you’ll be thrilled to know that the manufacturer has shipped the first X4-based flash memory cards to retailers. The X4 memory cards will be able to store twice as much data as regular MLC NAND memory chips. So does that mean you’ll see extremely large SDHC cards coming your way soon? Well not exactly because this new X4 technology doesn’t come cheap. Currently the biggest SDHC and Memory Stick PRO cards are just 16GB. Not enough you say? Well you should be happy to be able to get those ones for now. Larger versions will be on their way soon.
