FARO Technologies, Inc. unveiled its new array of 3-D Laser Scanners including Photon 80 and Photon 20. The portable scanners digitally create a virtual 3-D image of the area covered by an object. The scanners are crafted with superior technology for less noise and better accuracy. The Photon series features higher sensitivity, easy high-quality color overlay and increased mirror rotation speed for faster scanning times.

The CA50 utilizes Voice Over Internet protocol (VoIP) to transmit voices over the network. The device proves to an efficient solution to abridge communication gaps at places of the concern such as, offices, retail outlets and other multi storey organizations. The device acts actively in curtailing response time by supporting one to one and one to many call flows.

"Motorola's CA50 VoIP-enabled wireless scanner fills a communications void in the task and service-oriented-level environment by equipping all associates with a bar coding, data and voice device," said Bob Sanders, vice president and general manager of Advanced Data Capture, Motorola Enterprise Mobility business.

Motorola innovative CA50 is filled with robust features including wireless LAN, bar code scanning and information retrieval. Motorola is developing a partnership with Avaya to enable CA50 to redirect incoming calls. This will make sure that no important call is missed. The company is also offering a start Advance Exchange maintenance program, a multi-year agreement to ensure product competency which includes device replacement within the next working day if necessary. The program covers wear and tear damage of internal and external parts and accidental damage as well.

The Motorola CA50 Voice enabled Wireless Scanner is expected to hit the market in first quarter of this year.

Handheld recently launched its plug n play Barcode Scanners 2020/4820/4820i enabling fast and accurate barcode scanning. Based on rechargeable Lithium ion cell, the scanners can be connected to the computer with USB, keyboard or RS-232. The Barcode Scanners have LEDs indication power, communication and battery. The OCR compatible scanners scan characters in OCR-A or B font. Programming barcodes can be replaced by serial programming commands. The base provides a link between scanner and system. Handheld came out with three following barcode scanners:

ASML TWINSCAN XT:1900i Scanner

The network scanner connects directly to a company’s network, without the need for additional hardware or applications. Planned for workgroups within the corporate and SME office environments, these ultra compact scanners facilitate office employees to transfer scanned, digital data straight onto a company’s network. Canon’s standard offering and Scan Front 220P have speeds of up to 24 pages per minute for black & white and 48 images per minute for color. Scan Front scanners allows users to scan and send images directly to personal and shared folders, FTP sites, USB devices and to email.

In addition to all this, all functions can be implemented at the same time. Users can access their personal address book, a group address book and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), permitting employees to directly access a global address book - tasks that rapidly increase productivity within organizations. The Canon Scan Front 220 has a perceptive design for easy operation and it also allows users to complete tasks in a few easy steps. The scanner feature an 8.4” TFT display with a touch panel interface, where users can clearly view scanned images, rotate and tailor them on the screen before sending them.
