Metrologic Instruments, Inc. presented the IS4910, their first set of miniature mega-pixel imaging engines specially designed to provide unmatched bar code scanning performance. Compatible with payment terminals, ATM machines, PDAs, PDTs, tablet PCs, price-check kiosks, lottery terminals and medical/diagnostic instruments, it uses a 1.2-mega-pixel CMOS sensor and patented FirstFlash™ technology to capture high-resolution image. Powered with a wide angle lens in combination with SwiftDecoder™ software from Omniplanar™ the device gives best results quickly and accurately. The software enables decoding of 1D codes as dense as four mil (0.102 mm) and 2D codes as dense as 10 mil (0.254 mm) as well as specific optical-character-recognition (OCR).
