SD Card Association gets new standard
I believe that Toshiba has unveiled some of the fastest SD cards around, and Panasonic has some fast ones too.
The SD card association is planning on resetting the specs for SD cards which will triple the speed of SDHC and SDXC. The spec should be completed by Q1 next year, and it will achieve 300MB per second with a second row of electrical contacts on the bottom face of the card.
This could be SD 4.0, and other brand names are being considered.
