Originally, the second generation Flip Mino HD camcorder was launched in the United States last Fall. But now it’s scheduled to hit store shelves in Canada by mid-July. In comparison to its first-gen predecessor, the updated Flip Mino HD is sporting a somewhat thinner and rounder design covered with aluminium in a brushed metal finish and it’s made to be more portable as well. However, if you don’t prefer this new design for the updated camcorder, you can place an order with the Flip website for a customized model.

Furthermore, the second gen Flip Mino HD features 8GB of memory, 2 hours of recording time in 720P HD video, a mini-HDMI port on the bottom and a two inch screen. This is a definite upgrade from the previous model, which had only 4GB of memory and a 1.5 screen. According to OhGizmo!, this camcorder’s video quality is very good, it also comes with the sensor found in its predecessor and the Flip Ultra HD and the Flip product line is still king among compact camcorders in the consumer market. The Flip Mino HD will be making its debut in Canada at a retail price of $239.
