We are in the age of 3D thus it is not surprising to find 3D printing among the eye-catching devices we see in the market today. Such is a service provided by Shapeways with their 3D Stainless Steel Printing services. A sample of their work is the image you see with this post.
What makes this technology different is that it is the first time that steel is used. Normally plastic is the material used for 3D rendering products but their process calls for printing metal objects layer after layer with the aid of marquee CAD or CAM programs. And the icing on the cake is the final 3D stainless steel printer, something that may be rare for anyone to own these days.
