The Sigma Corporation has freshly launched its new product, the new Macro 70mm F2.8 EX DG lens. This smart average telephoto macro lens is believed to be perfect match for both digital SLR cameras and 35mm film SLR cameras. The 70mm focal length of this new lens gives the same field of view as the admired 105mm macro lens when is used with digital SLR cameras. The lens is designed in a way that it allows the user to take pictures in every type of condition from perpetuity to 1:1 macro, in natural light conditions as well as with flash.

The lens has also got a Special Low Dispersion and two high refractive index SLD lenses which offer brilliant rectification for any type of aberrations and generates an exceptional level of performance. In addition to all this, Sigma’s wonderful multi-layer lens coating lessens flare and ghosting. There is a ‘Focus Limiter Switch’ which is incorporated on the lens which help in improving the speed and accurateness of auto focus by restraining the focus range.

Adding a feather in its cap the Sigma MACRO 70mm F2.8 EX DG lens was honored with the best product 2007-2008 award by EISA. The EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) awards are selected yearly by board representing virtually 50 prominent Photo, Video, Audio, Home Theater and Mobile Electronics publication magazine from over 18 European countries.
