Skycam / CableCam Operations Not Affected By Layoffs
The folks who make the Skycam and CableCam aerial cameras, Outdoor Channel Holdings, have laid off fully twenty five percent of their work force. Though neither Skycam nor CableCam operations are expected to be affected by this move, it’s still a whole lot of jobless folks at the worst possible time. Here’s the word from the company’s chief operations officer:
“Given the challenging environment, we are constantly evaluating our organization and cost structure with the goal of operating at the highest level of efficiency. As a result of the economic downturn and reduced business at Winnercomm’s production services segment, we simply needed to right-size the organization. We remain confident that we can continue improving upon the synergies available between our Winnercomm and Outdoor Channel operations as we move forward.”
Which is, of course, corporate-speak for “we’re not making enough money, time to throw the people who actually do the work overboard”.
Hopefully, all those folks will be able to find new work soon.
