Sony has recently announced its new 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens. This one is a 5.7x super telephoto zoom lens. Considered as the latest lens in the Sony’s G-series line of premium lenses, the 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens is ideal for sports, action and wildlife photography.

Focus drive of 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens provided by its SSM system offers the speed and rotational precision. The 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens comes with two extra-low dispersion glass lenses for a dynamic high contrast and exceptional center-to-edge resolution.

This new lens from Sony incorporates three focus-hold buttons and an internal focusing system for a faster auto focusing. The 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens is actually made up of 18 elements in 12 groups. It is capable of delivering high-performance results with its nine diaphragm blades.

Sony 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G Series Lens will be available in the market from January 2009 onwards at a price of $ 1,500.
