Sony DCR-DVD650 Camcorder Review–Another Great Sony

The Sony line of camcorders has often proven to be of high quality, with great tech specs and fine controls.  So it really doesn’t surprise me that I’ll be telling you about another high quality camcorder from Sony, the Sony DCR-DVD650.

The Sony DCR-DVD650 is a camcorder that captures video directly to burnable DVD, so it offers support for DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD+R DL (dual layer).  It’s got a 60X optical zoom (with a 2000X digital zoom!), a 2.7 inch touch panel LCD display, one touch disc burn, USB interface, zoom microphone, and color viewfinder.

I’m very pleased overall with the Sony DCR-DVD650.  When I tried it out on some small print, I discovered that I could read a sign with small print on it from fifty feet away.  I personally find it very gratifying when I can take a camcorder and read a book from across the room.  It’s a mark of high quality as far as I’m concerned.

Thus, it’s not too hard for me to recommend the Sony DCR-DVD650, especially at its asking price of two hundred and fifty bucks on Amazon.  This is a great camera at a good price.
