Sony DCR-SR68 Camcorder Review–A Great Buy

Sony has often given me a lot of exciting cameras to look at, and today, I’ve got one that’s actually a bit better than most.  Today, we’re talking about the Sony DCR-SR68, and it’s got a lot to offer and at a decent price, too.

The Sony DCR-SR68 camcorder offers up a 60x optical zoom and an augmenting 2000x digital zoom for incredible range.  It comes with a 2.7 inch Clear Photo color LCD monitor, SteadyShot image stabilization, a variety of scene recognition modes and fader effects, a digital still photo mode, built-in zoom microphone with Dolby Digital 2-channel recording, an onboard eighty gig hard drive with support for Secure Digital and Memory Stick memory cards, a USB port, and included editing software.

Special warning here–new computers need only apply as you’ll need at least XP SP3 to transfer your material to PC.

Despite the fact that you’re probably going to need a pretty high-tension computer to get the most out of this camcorder, don’t worry.  This is still a terrific camcorder regardless of its all-consuming hunger for accessories.  The range is delightfully long and the controls seem to work pretty smoothly, so there’s no trouble there.  There’s sufficient storage for twenty DVDs’ worth of material, and all of it at a pretty reasonable price, too.

Best Buy is offering these at three hundred and fifty bucks.

So if you’re in the market for a new camcorder, definitely spare a thought to the Sony DCR-SR68, a camcorder with plenty to offer in one single package.
