Sony DCRHC52 Mini Review–Mini Camcorder, Mini Value

I tell you up front that I did not like using the Sony DCRHC52.

Despite the fact that this camera comes with plenty of interesting and exciting options, like a one-sixth inch Advanced HAD CCD Imager with 680K Pixels Gross, a 40X Optical / 2000X Digital Zoom, a 2.7″ touch panel SwivelScreen LCD display (123K Pixels), a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens, and an InfoLITHIUM battery with AccuPower meter system, I had an unpleasant time with this camera.

Frankly, I had a tough time getting the stupid thing to WORK.  It took fully five minutes of fumbling and a host of really, REALLY annoying alarm bells just to try and get through the menus.  This thing fought me like a heavyweight title fight.  Why would I want to use–or suggest that other people use–a camcorder that almost has to be tricked into doing what you want it to do?

No, I want a camera that works with me, not hinders me, and that’s why there’s no way the Sony DCRHC52 is getting anything even vaguely resembling a recommendation out of me.
