Sony DCRSX40 Camcorder Review–Extremely Sensitive

This is a strange camcorder for me to discuss–I had only one real problem with it, and it’s not even a very big problem.  It was really more of an annoyance.  I’m talking about the Sony DCRSX40 camcorder, and its problem is actually pretty strange.

The Sony DCRSX40 is a palm-sized digital camera with a 60x optical zoom, four gig of onboard memory and Memory Stick compatibility.  It can connect directly to a DVD burner and also comes with a zoom microphone.

I had a great time working this camera–it’s got a smooth zoom that’s easy to operate and the whole system is nicely laid out.  The buttons even press easily, which for a small camera is often a problem.  But the problem I had was that this little fella is extremely sensitive.  The model I tried actually shook with my pulse while I was holding it.  I’d hold the camera up and look at the touchpad and the image would shake slightly just from me holding it.  I found that incredibly odd.

But still–this is a great camera, especially if you mount it, and is easily worth its retail price of about two hundred seventy dollars.
