Sony discontinues A33 DLSR

Sony has announced that they’ve ceased production of the Sony Alpha A33 DLSR, after only seven months on the market. The A33 features a revolutionary new translucent mirror — perhaps too revolutionary? The A33 has received a lot of complaints about sensor overheating, and has undergone some production issues as well. The problems seemed to be too much for Sony, as they’ve killed the production on the camera altogether.

Furthermore, the price difference between the A33 and big brother A55 is often less than a $100, meaning most buyers opt for the A55. Expect a successor to the A33 very soon, with a few more features, and more importantly, without the nagging issues of the A33.
