Sony DPF72N/B Digital Photo Frame Review–Nice, But Far From Best
So I had a chance to take a look at the Sony DPFD72N/B digital photo frame, and I was actually pretty surprised with how it turned out. Let’s take a look.
The Sony DPFD72N/B boasts a seven inch WVGA LCD screen, a full gig of onboard memory, support for a variety of memory card formats including Memory Stick, Secure Digital and CompactFlash, a USB interface, and the ability to display both JPEG and RAW picture formats.
I admit that I was a bit surprised by the lack of options–no support for MP3? No video support? These things seemed commonplace in the last few frames I’d had a look at, so their lack caught me by surprise here. But still, the frame itself looks nice, and the pictures that it generates equally so, so there’s no denying that the Sony DPF72N/B is a good quality frame.
But the price is a pretty substantial sticking point on this one, folks–they want a hundred and twenty bucks for it. And as pretty a frame as this is, as pretty pictures as it generates, it’s still hard to generate support when you can do better elsewhere. If you already have a Sony DPF72N/B, you’re likely pretty happy with it, but if you’re planning to buy, I say keep shopping.
