Sony Expands DVD Handycam Camcorder Array



dcr-dvd850 Sony USA enhanced its DVD Camcorder line-up with the introduction of two new power-packed Handycams. Displayed at the CES this year, Sony’s new DCR-DVD850 and DCR-DVD650 models incorporate high-end imaging optics to deliver superb motion clips and high def stills. Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar lenses, 60X optical zoom, and 1/8-inch 680K-pixel CCD imagers empower the DVD camcorders to produce stunning true-to-life results.

DCR-DVD650 “Our DVD Handycam camcorders make sharing memories with friends and family easy,” said Kelly Davis, director of camcorder marketing at Sony Electronics. “You can record content to the media of your choice for easy playback on DVD players or other viewing devices that you use every day.”

The new Handycams offer varied recording options for higher flexibility. The DCR-DVD650 supports three-inch DVD media and Memory Stick PRO Duo™ cards to store your precious moments. The DCR-DVD850 supports all Hybrid recording options provided by its associate and also includes an additional 16GB embedded memory to store up to 11 additional hours.

The Sony DCR-DVD850 and DCR-DVD650 Handycam Camcorders will be available next monthfor an estimated MSRP of about $430 and $300, respectively.
