Recently, Sony proudly expanded its new XDCAM HD422 Series of optical disc products. This new expansion has been done to deliver an enhanced flexibility in motion picture and television episodic production as well as for ENG/EFP applications. The new products launched in this series include PDW-F800 CineAlta Camcorder and PDW-F1600 Deck.

Both these two new Sony products have been designed to provide a frame rate of 23.98P in 1080 mode and multi-format recording flexibility. These new optical disc products are capable of supporting MPEG IMX, DVCAM and 4:2:0 HD content. Moreover, they allow you to do multi-format recording and HD/SD conversion.

Sony’s PDW-F800 CineAlta Camcorder and PDW-F1600 Deck also let the user record HD content on its dual-layer 50GB version of its PFD50DLA model. Both these new camera and deck are capable of handling content on PFD-23A single layer discs. The new camera comes featuring a 2x digital extender, while the deck features a Gigabit Ethernet data drive.
