Sony Mavica MVC-FD75
The Sony Mavica MVC-FD75 is an easy-to-use digital camera that offers a big 10x optical zoom lens that is not normally found on a $40 entry-level point and shoot camera. The 640 x 480 resolution is perfect for e-mailing, posting on the Web, or making small prints, but anything larger than 3” x 4” will begin to show the camera’s limitations. A number of programmed exposure modes help you take pictures in just about any lighting conditions, and an auto white balance makes sure the colors remain clear and true. An integrated auto macro mode lets you take pictures up close; another feature not commonly found in an inexpensive camera.
Images are captured in the Mavica JPEG format by default, which makes the camera a perfect choice for taking photos to share on MySpace or your personal website. Photos are loaded to the computer via a universal floppy instead of a USB cable, eliminating compatibility problems. The Sony Mavica MVC-FD75 retails for just under $40.
