Sony MHS PM5 Camcorder Review–A Sad Waste of Money
The Sony MHS PM5, being marketed toward bloggers by dint of it being called the “bloggie” camera, is easily one of the cheesiest marketing ploys I’ve ever seen to try and hawk a camera that can’t possibly stand on its own merits.
The Sony MHS PM5 is a five megapixel digital camcorder with a 2.4 inch LCD monitor, 4x digital zoom, image stabilization, face detection, digital still photo mode, built in microphone, USB interface, editing software and support for a whole host of memory cards, including SD and SDHC, along with Memory Stick versions.
The plain and simple truth here is, this camera costs way too much for what little it actually does. The zoom is better suited to a digital camera than to anything purporting to be a camcorder, the image itself is blurry especially at outer zoom, and frankly, I wouldn’t post a thing I got here on any blog.
To add insult to injury, the price tag on the Sony MHS PM5 is a whopping hundred and seventy bucks. For that kind of price you could get an ACTUAL camcorder to do your blogging! I can’t possibly recommend this waste of parts (not to mention your money if you bought one) to anyone, because the value is simply not there.
