Sony PDW-HR1 Field Recorder

This new product has been designed to expand Sony’s XDCAM HD422 Professional Disc System. It is capable of supporting MPEG iMX DVCAM and 4:2:1 HD 24p content.

The new Sony PDW-HR1 Field Recorder comes sporting a 9-inch color LCD display and built-in speakers. This whole unit is battery operated and can also be operated with AC and DC power. It provides connectivity with various devices via HDMI out, HD/SDI in/out, composite in/out Gigabit, Ethernet, RS-422A control and an optional I.LINK TS in/out.

Sony’s PDW-HR1 Field Recorder lets you record HD content to its dual-layer 50GB version of Sony’s optical Professional Disc. Feel free to record up to 95 minutes recording at 50 Mbps, 150 minutes recording at 35 Mbps and 200 minutes recording at 25 Mbps. It is expected to be available in the market by June 2009 at an estimated price of $21,000.
