Sony SX 40 Camcorder Review–Long Range Greatness

Ah, Sony. You’ve given me so many interesting things to write about, so why not give me one more in the form of the Sony SX 40, today’s review target?  And indeed, the Sony SX 40 will prove to be plenty interesting to talk about.

The Sony SX 40 comes with four gigs of onboard memory to hold just short of three hours of video footage.  Plus, it offers an incredible 60x optical zoom (2000x digital zoom), compatibility with the Memory Stick PRO Duo just in case you need a little extra memory, the ability to directly connect to a DVD burner (they don’t actually include one, but you could hook it up if you had one), a 2.7 inch LCD touchscreen, instant power-on by opening the LCD display (great for capturing those surprise moments), a built-in zoom microphone, and some added software for ease of use.

Now here’s the best part–not only can this camcorder read small print from a hundred feet out…not only are the controls smooth and easy to use…but you can get this sucker for a whopping two hundred and fifty bucks, and by camcorder standards, that’s a steal.  So if you’re looking for a new camcorder, you definitely need to put the SX 40 high up on your list of possibilities.
