Sony Unveils Single Lens 240 FPS Camera

The monster in the picture is a Sony prototype expected to be announced at CEATEC next week. The camera is made with 3D recording in mind but I guess it will be able to record regular 2D videos even better. The HFR Comfort-3D has just one lens and will be able to record video at 240 fps. That’s amazing considering that other cameras that record 3D videos need two lenses to get the job done. The HFR Comfort-3D will bring a new half-mirror system to the table which is able to take images for both eyes at the same time. We’ll have more details about this marvel sometime next week but this Sony camera will probably not be something you’d want to actually purchase. On the other hand movie makers and sports network should definitely check it out in person. Maybe the HFR Comfort-3D will bring us more 3D movies and especially sports sooner than expected.
