Here’s a great piece of news for all the photographers from around the world! Entries for the 2011 Sony competition are open! This time London is all set to host Sony World Photography Awards ceremony for the very first time.

After the immense success of the annual World Photography Festival in Cannes, the festival will spread out to four major cities across the globe throughout 2010 and 2011. It will expand to San Francisco, Mexico, Shanghai and London. This festival is a great platform for photography enthusiast to meet and discuss the latest trends, challenges and innovations in photography. The festival will feature practical workshops, exhibitions, talks, portfolio reviews and a photography symposium.

The Open competition has eleven categories, while the Professional competition has fourteen. The winners of Professional and Open categories will be awarded their trophies at the Sony World Photography Awards ceremony on 27 April 2011 in London. Entries for the competition end on 5 January 2011.
