Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD Camcorder

HDR-SR5_Front_med.jpgThe third camcorder to be announced by Sony today was the Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD high-definition camcorder. This one has a 40GB hard drive which can store more than 15 hours of footage (LP modes) and also offers HDD Smart Protection for safeguarding against data loss as well as easy connection to PCs via USB.

The Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD high-definition camcorder has been equipped with a 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen and includes a nifty film roll button to view footage as a film roll index, which displays multiple scenes as thumbnails within a single movie file. It also features a 2 -megapixel sensor for full HD 1080 video and produces a 4-megapixel photo. One also comes across Sony’s x.v.Color™ technology, based on the new international xvYCC color standard which reproduces a much wider data range of colors than the conventional sRGB standard.

The new camcorder AVCHD camcorder recording format based on the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec for video compression and Dolby digital audio and one also comes across built-in Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound recording. One also comes across the Sony Super SteadyShot® optical image stabilization which is known to enhance imaging and result in blur-free photos. The camcorder is also compatible with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 7.0e software update, as well as Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition software and will be available in June for $1,100.
