The third camcorder to be announced by Sony today was the Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD high-definition camcorder. This one has a 40GB hard drive which can store more than 15 hours of footage (LP modes) and also offers HDD Smart Protection for safeguarding against data loss as well as easy connection to PCs via USB.

The Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD high-definition camcorder has been equipped with a 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen and includes a nifty film roll button to view footage as a film roll index, which displays multiple scenes as thumbnails within a single movie file. It also features a 2 -megapixel sensor for full HD 1080 video and produces a 4-megapixel photo.
