Sony recently introduced its new PDW-700 XDCAM HD 422 Camcorder. The stylish camcorder records High Definition images to 50GB Dual Layer Discs at 50MB/s. Integrating superior “Power HAD™ FX” technology and three 2/3-inch CCD sensors it delivers 1920 X 1080 high resolution images. The compact device weighs only 4.2Kgs (without viewfinder, lens, microphone and battery).

PDW -700 XDCAM includes 4 channels of digital audio, 3.5” Color LCD screen, Ethernet and iLINK interface. The camcorder supports XDCAM HD and XDCAM SD formats and automatically converts SDI input to HD while recording. With its dual recording feature, you can record HD videos in both 1080 and 720-line formats.
It performs thumbnail operation, proxy recording and metadata, ideal for fast-turnaround news and live applications.
