Sony’s R Series Of HDC Cameras Expanded



1 SONY CT05022801 Sony expands its precious “R” Series of High Definition Cameras with introduction of six new models.  The newly added models integrate superior CCD technology and a second-generation 1080p imager with an innovative DSP LSI. The updates allow for faster signal processing and better focusing potential.

“Our HD cameras have built a name for themselves in OB and studio work through their image quality, performance and flexibility,” said Rob Willox, director of marketing, Sony Electronics’ content creation group. “Now, we’re enhancing this flagship line with new features to meet the evolving needs of broadcasters.”

The Sony R Series now includes the HDC-1000R, HDC-1400R, HDC-1450R, HDC-1500R, HDC-1550R and the HDC-3300R High Def Models.  The HDC-1000/1500 and HDC-1000R/1500R are equipped with 3G capabilities for 3GBPS Full Bit Digital Fiber Transfer. The series also features reduced noise levels and new Focus Assist Functions for convenience. The new models are expected to be available for sale this month.
