Sony’s TransferJet Devices Start Hitting This Week

So I just got word that Sony’s TransferJet devices will start hitting stores this week, and these, if you haven’t already heard of them, are a really great idea.

See, we all know that digital cameras do a great job of transferring their pictures from themselves to, say, a computer or a memory card.  Some will even do the job nicely with a USB device.  But what no one’s really thought to do is have the capacity to shift photos BETWEEN CAMERAS.

I know, it’s kind of a strange thought, but that’s what Sony’s TransferJet devices will do.  Basically, they’re short range wireless devices that allow you to send digital photographs between devices on the fly.  No more waiting until you get back to a computer to get someone’s sweet shot–now you can just swap photos on the fly, in the field.

Admittedly, people may not NEED this capability, but it is a cool idea, and for a hundred and fifty bucks a unit, it’s not such a terrible idea to have one on hand.
