Specs leaked for Canon’s 1D Mark IV?

It seems that an anonymous tester of Canon’s 1D Mark IV has come forth and revealed the specs. Now, Canon hasn’t said anything to confirm these sepcs so take this with a grain of salt until then.

Below are said leaked specs:

  • 1.3 crop
  • Images ~16MP
  • ISO 50-26500
  • 8MP sRAW1 format providing images that seem to best 1D3 files in detail
  • Very clean images at ISO 3200. 6400/12800 take further processing very well
  • Slightly faster FPS than 1D3 in real life shooting
  • AF greatly improved and very good in low light
  • Liveview AF - not up to fast sports use, but very usable otherwise
  • Video as with 5D2
  • Screen as per 5D2
  • Ergonomic improvements with grips - some buttons moved
  • Feels faster and more responsive in nearly all aspects of real use.
  • So there you go, if these are to be believed Canon’s 1D Mark IV will definitely spurr some interest in photography enthusiasts everywhere.

    3. I think that 1D Mk IV will have dual DIGIC IV processors, and by that, it can shoot up to 16fps (8fps RAW). LiveView AF will be improved majorly, and I bet that the video AF is slightly better than 5D Mk II. The grips will be modified (as said above) and with this new body, Canon should be releasing Speedlite 590EX, with better guidenumber and 17-200mm internal zoom. Maybe even a birdwatchers wet dream; 500mm f/2.8DO IS UMS will be released. Due to the DO-lenses smaller size, Canon can increase the maximun aperture up to 2.8 in 500mm DO-lens.
