Speed Camera Guerilla Fights Back With Masks
Who was that masked man who, down in Phoenix, took on the state’s freeway camera system armed with nothing more than masks in the shape of wildlife?
His name is Dave VonTesmar, and he’s a forty seven year old flight attendant who’s triggered the speed cameras over eighty times in a year. and the interesting part is, every one of his triggerings has featured him wearing a monkey or giraffe mask.
Being that he was masked at the time, the plucky flight attendant claims there’s no way for the state to prove that it was in fact him behind the wheel. In that spirit, he intends to fight every ticket issued to him. And it’s already worked somewhat, as fully fifty of his tickets had been voided because the deadline for prosecution had passed. he is now facing a summons on thirty seven of those remaining tickets.
I can’t imagine him actually winning this case, but I’m glad he’s fighting it all the same. It’s about time justice stopped being meted out remotely, and started being placed back in its rightful hands of duly appointed law enforcement.
