Sungale ID800WT Widget Photo Frame Review
The Sungale ID800WT touch-screen, Wi-Fi, widgetized photo frame is adequate as a standard digital photo frame, but it certainly is not the tablet of the future that it aspires to be. Everything on its screen is touchable, with a widget menu that includes news, weather, Gmail, YouTube, and Internet radio access. Unfortunately, the current execution doesn’t live up to the vision. The most impressive feature of this device is the touch screen itself.
The Sungale screen is responsive anywhere you touch it and it’s easy and fun to use. The most frustrating thing about the ID800WT frame is the use (or lack thereof) of the Internet media widgets. The Gmail widget is nearly useless as you can see only a few lines of each of the emails in your inbox. The text-based news widget is okay, but it’s not all that visually appealing. The calendar widget is useable, but nothing to get excited about and there is no syncing with your own online calendar. Overall Sungale’s attempt is a bit of a disappoinment. Retails for around $164.99.
